  10.                                Ninevah, the capital of the Assyrian Empire, is
  11.                                the subject of Nahum's prophecy. The news of its
  12.                                coming destruction was a relief for Judah, who
  13.                                was subject to Assyrian domination. No longer
  14.                                would Judah be forced to pay tribute as insurance
  15.                                against invasions. Judah was comforted to know
  16.                                that God was still in control. Nineveh is an
  17.                                example to all relers and nations of the world
  18.                                today. God is sovereign over even those who are
  19.                                seemingly invincible. We can be confident that
  20.                                God's power and justice will one day conquer
  21.                                all evil.
